Strategy
Iron Frontier
★★★★☆ 4.1
Iron Frontier is a slower, more thoughtful strategy game that asks you to plan your defences and manage resources while raider waves get tougher. It's less about twitch reactions and more about reading the map and placing things wisely.
The touch interface handles the fiddly bits well. Dragging buildings into place and routing your workers never felt clumsy, which is more than I can say for a lot of mobile strategy titles.
It can get grindy in the mid-game, and I wish the tech tree branched more. Still, when a defence you spent twenty minutes planning holds against a brutal wave, it's a real little rush.
What we liked
- Rewards careful planning
- Smooth building and unit controls
- Satisfying defensive payoffs
